Surprised no one has seen this today. Multiple news organizations have reported that CNN is in the final stages of a $200 million dollar buyout of Mashable.

CNN is reportedly buying Mashable for about $200 million, reports Reuters blogger Felix Salmon.

At the SXSW (South by Southwest) annual interactive technology and music festival in Austin, Salmon said an unnamed source told him that the 24-hour cable news network said an announcement is expected for Tuesday regarding the deal, which will be worth ?upwards of $200 million.?

CNN, a division of Time Warner, and Mashable didn?t immediately return requests for comment.

Mashable calls itself ?the largest independent online news site dedicated to covering digital culture, social media and technology? with more than 20 million unique monthly visitors. Headquartered in New York City, the company was founded in 2005.

CNN officials denied rumors that the parties would make an announcement about a match on Tuesday, the New York Times said.

Sunday night, Reuters' Felix Salmon reported from Austin's South by Southwest conference that CNN was about to acquire Mashable, one of the biggest online destinations for news and tips about social media, the web, and technology. Salmon said the deal could be announced as early as Tuesday.
