UFO Caught On Tape Over Santiago Air Base

Recommended Posts

Sightings of mysterious flying craft with capabilities unknown on Earth have confounded mankind throughout recorded history. Most have been convincingly explained away as unfamiliar aircraft, natural phenomena or illusions. But then there are the others, witnessed in our time by pilots and air traffic controllers, military leaders, scientists, law enforcement officers and other trained observers, sometimes with physical evidence, including corroboration on film and video.

"We don't know what they are," says Nick Pope, a former head of the official UFO office in Britain's Ministry of Defense. "But they do exist."

As agreed by authorities around the world, these truly unexplainable unidentified flying objects appear solid, metallic and luminous, able to operate with speeds and maneuvers that defy the laws of physics. And, most chilling of all, they often behave as if under intelligent control.

One such case has just come to light in Chile, and was presented by government officials for the first time at a press conference on March 13.

It was a glorious, sunny morning on Nov. 5, 2010, when crowds gathered to celebrate the changing of the Air Force Command at El Bosque Air Base in Santiago. From different locations, spectators aimed video cameras and cell phones at groups of acrobatic and fighter jets performing an air show overhead. Nobody saw anything amiss.

But afterward, an engineer from the adjacent Pill?n aircraft factory noticed something bizarre while viewing his footage in slow motion. He turned it over to the government's well known Committee for the Study of Anomalous Aerial Phenomena, or CEFAA, for analysis.

Gen. Ricardo Berm?dez, formerly chief commander of the Air Force's 3rd Air Brigade (southern area) and an air attach? in London, was one of CEFAA's founders, and he currently directs the agency with a full-time staff of three.

"Our mission is to study cases of unidentified aerial phenomena for which there is adequate data, to determine any possible risk to air operations," says Berm?dez. "Since this is a worldwide phenomenon, it should be subjected to rigorous scientific analysis so we can come to viable conclusions."

CEFAA officials were able to collect seven videos of the El Bosque UFO taken from different vantage points. Berm?dez commissioned scientists from many disciplines, aeronautical experts, and Air Force and Army Photogrametric technicians to subject the videos to intense scrutiny. They all came to the same conclusions.

Each video included three different, mainly horizontal loops flown by the UFO within seconds of each other. The object made elliptical passes either near or around each of three sets of performing jets. It flew past the Halcones, F-5s and F-16s at speeds so fast it was not noticed by the pilots or anyone on the ground below.

Images show it as a dome-shaped, flat-bottomed object with no visible means of propulsion. The rounded top reflects the sun and appears metallic; the bottom is darker and flat, emitting some form of energy which is visible in photo analysis. Infrared studies show the entire object is radiating heat, just like the jets.

This extraordinary machine was flying at velocities too high to be man-made. Scientists have estimated the speed, depending on the size of the object, to be at least 4000 - 6000 mph. Humans inside this object could not survive. And, somehow, it made no sonic boom, a noise similar to thunder which occurs whenever something exceeds the speed of sound (750 mph at sea level). The shock waves generated from an object at such high velocities would normally be enormous. But no known aircraft or drone could possibly fly this fast at such low altitudes anyway. Our fastest air-breathing jet, the SR-71, has a maximum speed of just over 2,000 mph, but that's at high altitudes.

And, the strange object is clearly operating under intelligent control. It zooms towards each set of jets at about their height, circles around and zooms back out again. Pilots who were shown the trajectory of the object in the three flybys were amazed that this maneuver is characteristic of reconnaissance aircraft coming in for a quick look at others in the sky.

The really should stop calling them UFO's because of the negative assumptions that comes with that. UFO means nothing more than unidentified flying object but the second you call it that, most people assume you are trying to say it was aliens even though nothing about the true meaning of UFO implies that. If I fly a remote control airplane over an air strip and they can't identify who/what it is, they will classify it as a UFO.

Assuming this video is legit, it could simply be a secret government project. Not saying it is or isn't that or aliens, or anything else. Calling it a UFO makes people think you are crazy.

Of course, UFO probably gets more page views for the news. :p

The lack of sonic boom is a pretty good giveaway that it's not real. Most likely a bug that's flying around the lens and gave the perspective of actually being around the jets.

Wow you seem to be smarter than the people paid to do this. Maybe they should hire you? Someone I find it hard to believe that someone else didn't think of this first. Lets be real. The fact that it hasn't yet been proven a fake points to the fact that the obvious explanations have already been ruled out. Please read the post fully.

It's pretty dumb to assume that a UFO would obey standard aircraft physic rules considering they probably had to go faster then light to get here..

once again only the crappiest of cameras were on hand to record this strange phenomenon. Why is this stuff even reported anymore, most cell phone cameras would be able to capture better pictures than this.

Calm down... It even says in the article that they noticed the lack of sonic boom, so I reiterated my believe due to that fact.

Unless the aircraft could somehow counteract air resistance, it's not possible to negate a sonic boom.

But it is possible for 7 cameras from completely different vantage points to capture the same bug in the same three locations. Lets think this one through for more than a second eh?

Faster than the speed of light? Probably not.

Considering the age of the universe, it would be a more probable assumption that if it was a live form, it has a life duration much much longer than ours and thus could tolerate an extremely long trip.

It's very doubtful that the laws of physics will be exceeded. Variances in a physical body are much more realistic.

Why do we measure speeds of travel in the universe with the speed of light? Because it is the fastest thing we know about. The key word here is WE. WE can't figure out how to get humans to Mars safely yet so why would you assume this being is capable of living extremely long, yet not have more advanced, and closer to the truth, laws of physics? You can't debunk an assumption using another assumption. If they are more advanced in one way, they can be just as advanced in another.

I don't assume that everyone who says they saw an unidentified flying object is crazy.

On an other note, don't you find it strange all of these "UFO's" are over AIR BASES!!!!

Looking over the primative Earth craft -- even Aliens need a laugh.

It is a field trip for Alien 1st grade. Primitive aircraft 101. Instead of watching videos and looking at pictures, they go visit the real thing. Our entire planet is a museum of the past to them.

Yes, but WE have observed the cosmos for centuries and have not once seen anything that even gave the slightest hints of breaking this theory. Actually we can get humans to Mars safely. We could launch something tomorrow and be just fine, but it comes down to budgetary reasons. Completely separate topic. Honestly, I'm not sure what you're trying to get at. Look at the millions of varieties of life forms we have here on Earth. They all have different forms and live different lives. We have even found life forms here that survive and reproduce in pools of poison. It's not far fetched at all that life can easily be derived on alien planets that have completely different characteristics. Breaking the speed of light? Doubtful. A living thing that can live for 1000+ years? Probable.

Apparently you are quite unaware of all the things that have been seen.

If you are referring to the neutrinos that apparently broke the speed of light, that was proven false quite a while ago.

Considering we have already broken the speed of light barrier in communication, I am doubtful about your assumption that the speed of light can't be broken and I am not refering to the neutrinos experiments.

True, it's called quantum entanglement.

I am refering to the actual craft operated by other intelligent beings, who have gotten here, from there.

There are many witnesses to this fact.

Please don't quote this planet's primative Science.

Just because 'we' don't know how to do something, does not mean other intelligent beings in our galaxy do not.
