What time should I goto the Apple Store on Friday TO NOT get an iPad

So my gf and I have been planning since last week to make a trip out to the Apple Store this Friday to get the back of my iPhone 4's glass and camera lens cover replaced and to see if they will do anything about her iPod Touch which now has a bad scratch on the screen.

It totally slipped my mind that Friday is going to be chaos day at the Apple Store due to the release of the new iPad...

We have to travel to the next town over which is about an hour away (there are no Apple Stores here) and we were originally targeting to be there around 10am.

Now we are thinking about either taking the trip another day or going there later in the day. I'm sure that the chaos will die down once they sell out of iPads. When do you think that will be approximately? Thanks.

Nope 'cause of work. We were thinking about going on Sunday... but Sunday is suppose to be a day of rest for us, damn it! I'd have to miss my Sunday afternoon nap.

Is it likely to just remain chaos all day?

Go within the last hour, that's when stores typically die down, even during launch days.

I just got mine at the local Best Buy and they had a ton available around lunch time. They had a section set up for expected long lines but almost noone showed. They said that they overestimated the demand...

Not sure if this applies to all Apple Stores, but here when the iPhone 4S came out, that organized a separate line for it with an employee at the door keeping order. Everybody else interested in other things were welcome to roam around the store.

I ended up buying the new iPad today (White, Wifi, 16GB). Lol. Got that itch bad when reading all the reviews. Got mine at Best Buy and they had a ton in stock. Think they overestimated the demand as well. There were sign posting saying to get a ticket and to form a line here, but must not be that in demand in my town.

I think it's just sexier to buy at at an Apple Store instead of a Best Buy.

Agree with it or not, but I guess that's what most people think and granted, I know why.

That's not to say that the Apple Store is the WAY busier one though, not very sexy for many :p
