HTC One X for AT&T benchmarked

The One X is not officially here... yet. That hasn't stopped someone from putting the new superphone through the benchmarking wringer, however. Turns out, that dual-core Snapdragon S4 SoC may be all it's cracked up to be, as screencaps have popped up online showing scores that blow away damn near every mobile device under the sun. Apparently, an AT&T employee put the One X through its paces, and if the scores are to be believed, it smoked the Galaxy Nexus in Quadrant and handily outperformed even the quad-core Transformer Prime in Vellamo. So, it seems that Peter Chou's new favorite phone has the guts to match its handsome exterior.

Impressive scores, I'm interested to see what the Xperia S pulls once it gets ICS on as well, I've just run quadrant on it (baring in mind this is with lots of stuff installed and running) and it scored 3250 so already blitzing the Galaxy Nexus/Tab.

Not too sure if I should have waited on the HTC for my upgrade, I'm happy so far though with the Sony and in white it is gorgeous.

Samsung Galaxy S2 running Darky Rom HD Light Base XXLPQ scores around 4200 !!! LOL ! 1.2ghz dual vs 1.5ghz quad hahaha ... S2 for the WIN !

Lol, you're comparing a S2 that's been OCed and modded to hell and back with an OOTB One X?

Someone sounds pretty desperate here.

Indeed, would probably find the HTC to be better on the battery too rather than the overclocked S2 running at full pelt.

S2 is not overclocked Stock 1.2ghz .... only a Default Stock Samsung ROM !!! thats had all the Samsung TouchWiz removed !!! basicly Stock Android 4.0.3

Exactly, else let's not forget that this has been benchmarked with it running sense and not a vanilla rom. The phone is going to be a beast no doubt about it. I'm looking forward to Ubuntu being released for Android. I love the thought of just docking my phone and running a desktop OS, having that in my pocket is just great.

Raw power it seems as though it's going to beat the Xperia S, but on looks and camera nothing on Android comes close right now imo. Still interested to see what the Galaxy S3 is going to be like as well. May end up giving the S to the other half and changing in May/June time.

Stop comparing Quadrant scores people. Quadrant is worthless. I can make nearly any phone blow everyone away in Quadrant. It's too easily influenced by a number of factors.

This is true. I'm getting the UK model, so it's the tegra 3, and there's been a load of arguing on XDA about benchmarks regarding dual vs quad etc.

The only thing I've cared about paying attention to is how smooth the phone operates in preview videos, and this

If that's what Tegra3 can manage in real world testing, I don't give a hoot about a benchmark number.

i dont buy a device because it gives nice benchmarks. i am actually rather unimpressed with the actual htc phones, i was waiting in hope, but no sd card slot and no replacable akku are no goes for me. i will now wait for the samsung galaxy s3. if that doesnt offer anything of these, i might just as well get the next iphone. :/
