Updating the Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi (MZ604) to Android 4.0?

Recommended Posts

Is this possible without plugging the tablet into a PC and/or rooting it?

Currently installed version is 3.2 and tapping "System updates" displays "Your device is up to date."

Usually if there is no official FOTA for a device, your only option is to flash ClockWorkMod Recovery and flash custom ROMs from there

Which also means you need root and normally a PC to do it all from, although some devices can be rooted and have a custom recovery installed to them via Apps

Gotta love Android

I would hold off playing with custom ICS roms for now though, for many devices even official ROMs are loaded with bugs, Ive got the ASUS Transformer and ICS has rendered it an irritating rebooting paper weight until ASUS pull their finger out and fix the last 2 ICS updates that have had the same bugs from ICS day 1
