It's certainly no secret that The Witcher 2 is one of PC gaming most visually impressive titles. Not to mention the award winning story. So it's no surprise that a 360 port is in the works.

But how is it going to look on the 360? Check the video below to find out:

While there are sacrifices, naturally, some stuff actually looks better on the 360, like the prison scene, especially since it doesn't have the Vaseline covered metal all over. The excessive glossiness seems to be an overall problem with the pc version.

You've gone insane lol. In no way did anything shown on the 360 side look better than the PC counterpart. The tint or lack of proper shading/lighting made everything look muddy and blurry.

You're saying the cling wrap and Vaseline covered metal and skin is better than the more realistic matte look

"one of PC gaming most visually impressive titles." maybe 6 years ago that would have been true

Doesn't look that way to me. What I see is actual light reflecting off on the textures in the PC version, where the 360 has no lighting at all except for the candle flame itself.

I personally like the atmospheric depth in the 360 version is better (if at some points a bit too much). The 360 version is almost identical when considering the difference in viewing (PC around 1ft-2ft / Television 5ft-15ft depending on screen size). The only significant difference is lighting and colors. I enjoy colorful games, but the PC version looks like it was recorded with digital vibrance on (something I never turn on in a game because it turns it into a fun house of colors).

Who the hell recorded the PC version? I have played the game to death (on PC with settings on "Ultra") and never encountered what looks like a coloured filter on some of the scenes.

I actually think the overall color palette of the 360 looks better, I do not like how the PC version always has a tint to everything, but as Belgarath said, I do not necessarily recall that being the case on the PC version. No doubt everything else as far as textures, etc. looks much better on the PC, that literally goes without saying, but I do like the colors, in particular the variety of said colors, better on the 360.

Never actually got round to giving this a try, might see if i can get the demo on Steam,
Have to say the PC version looks very blue, but from what you guys have said it doesn't look a good match up.

The 360 version looks better (color palette wise) although with lesser details. Overall not bad for a console that costs less than a top-end graphics card. :p

I'd go the other way, and stress the importance of ambient lighting effects on the experience as a whole. It really gives the sense of being in different places or different states of mind.

Wow. That is in no way a good representation of what the PC version is capable of.

That said, I'm fairly impressed with how good the xbox 360 version looks, and keep in mind that for most of that video the xbox 360 version was being compared to the PC version on medium settings. It's been awhile since I played Witcher 2, but I believe that it had low settings, medium settings, high settings, very high settings, and ludicrously high settings.

It is pretty impressive though the things they can do with consoles considering how limited they are. :)

The video doesn't do the PC version justice and not even close to it. Looks better than that.
