I'm wondering if anyone here knows what the "very last model" of HD CRT is. I'm going to guess SONY, but I could definitely be wrong. I'm looking to find more details on what it is, what "bells and whistles" it offers and possibly track it down to get one. Looking for a model number

The front room TV recently died and I replaced it with wide screen CRT (Sony WEGA type) it supported HDMI and it looks really crisp and clear, possibly nicer than what my DLP shows. Tried hooking the PC into it just for laughs, it goes to 1280x720 @ 60Hz. I was stunned how sharp it was.

Just for "curiosity's sake" I want to track down the last HD Tube ever made (hoping it offers lots of bells and whistles lol) Call it OCD, I just gotta experience it...

Your eyes can see the difference between an LCD and a old but nice CRT, the thing is, LCDs are here just by commodity, less weight and space but they never actually matched the tvs, merely they reduced the gaps in between.

Probably Sony or Mitsubishi would be the last ones to produce high quality consumer products.

I think you may still be able to buy some specialized CRTs manufactured for their color reproduction, though.

I just found something called SlimFit by Samsung, apparently still offered. They don't seem to be as high end as the ones I was looking at on goog. Guess it'll be a wild goose chase

There are still Grade 1 CRT monitors made by Sony and JVC.

We still have a Sony Trinitron CRT style TV (4:3) hooked on a RGB SCART input (480p, DVD quality), and I love it. I strongly prefer the image quality over most flat panels out there. Much less visible digital noise, crappy noise reduction, ... Everything looks more detailed and especially more natural than it does on flatpanels.
