ios [iOS] S/MIME encrypted email?

I noticed in Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Hotmail -> Account that there is an option to use S/MIME to sign and/or encrypt email.

Can someone please help me figure out how to use it? I know BlackBerries support S/MIME, as well, so if I can send encrypted emails it could potentially be beneficial. :shiftyninja:
