I've been looking for a new monitor for my desktop and apparently, there aren't that many options. I'm trying to choose between Samsung's 23" 350 Series LED Monitor and its HDTV version. The latter is basically a TV with more inputs, including a USB port, which I think is nice, however, its response time is 5ms (compared to the monitor's 2ms), am I going to notice any difference? Anything else I should consider?

I also considered Dell's IPS monitors but I haven't been able to find one of those where I live.

My 23" Acer P235H has a response time of 5ms and between heavy gaming and drawing (latency is imperative when drawing with a tablet), it isn't noticeable at all. Think about it, when playing an online game, a good, hardly noticeable latency is usually around 50ms or less. The difference between 2ms and 5ms is virtually non-existent at three thousandths of a second.

Looking at your chosen options, they appear to be virtually the same. The only reason you should get the TV over the monitor is if you REALLY need component input for something. Other than that, I would personally choose the monitor because they tend to draw the displayed image slightly more accurately than a television would (regardless of it being an HDTV).

I have the T23A350 and I love it! I use it primarily as a second monitor and occasionally use it to watch tv via an HD antenna. It took a bit of initial color adjusting to make it work well as a monitor (game mode works best) but once adjusted the color quality is great. :)

I'm using the S24B350HL myself, an it's kick ass.

I figured, and yes, the extra inputs are a plus for me.

What's your main monitor, if I may ask?

Couldn't find any 24" models.
