I will admit its a berry nice machine that I was very eager to get. But not for 2 Fn Grand

I'd say $1000 for an Ivy Bridge convertible tablet, either that design or an Asus Transformer is a fair price. I agree, $2K+ is just waaay too much.

But is it? your not getting a crippled computer (like an iPad or Android tablet) but a fully featured PC that can run desktop apps. The price is about right, when you think about it. The only problem is even though x86 Win8 tablets [although technically this one is a convertable Ultrabook, not a tablet] are in a completely different league to the other tablets, it will get compared to them and in turn it's price. I'd say the Windows on ARM based tablets will be the cheaper, directed at iPad, devices that you seek. That is my 2 cents, take with a grain of salt.

Yes, it's too much. It's perfectly feasible to deliver a good Ivy Bridge tablet for $1000, 2x that is too much.
