LMFAO! Nintendo kicked Sony and Microsoft's ass with last gen graphics on the Wii, and they've still sold more Wiis, each one at a profit than Sony or Microsoft. Second of all, Apple works on a tick-tock schedule, with a major and then minor technical upgrade each year, so every 2 years their hardware will get a significant graphical overhaul.

It amazes me how after seeing things happen repeatedly, people still insist the same things will happen when they've already been proven wrong.
In 2011, they sold more XBOX than PS3 than Wii, so yeah... you are wrong all the way.

You're comparing an Amazon sale vs a regular price on digital distribution? Not too bright at all.
I'm not too bright, eh? It takes a special kind of retard to be able to look at physical retail offerings, compare them to digital offerings, see clearly that usually the prices are the same, and still argue that digital is cheaper or even remotely comparable to the pricing of used games. Obviously you are the new to digital distribution and I wouldn't be surprised if you're a child who's never purchased a game himself, because if you were spending your own money you'd know where it was going. People don't use digital distribution because it's cheaper, they use it because it's more convenient (you don't have to get off your ass and go get the game, you can get any highly anticipated game on release day without waiting in line, you don't have to preorder to guarantee a copy on release day, you don't have to put discs in to install it, and you can't ever lose it unless the companies who provide the game go under and shut down). Somehow Apple has you brainwashed into believing they give a **** about making your Apple fanboy console gaming dreams come true. Good luck with that one.

That's what people said about Apple for portable gaming. It's obvious you're blind to past events.

And I already addressed why mobile phone/tablet games have the advantage in that area. Couldn't dispute the rest eh? ;)

Apple vs Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo/PC ?
They aren't even close to being in the same market. Any comparison between them is just asinine.

You can install Windows on any Mac now, they're definitely undercutting Windows by offering new versions of OSX at a much cheaper price.
Oh dear...

Apple offer their OS for cheap because the only people that can install it are people who have Macs, Apple make most of their money on hardware markup which is why they sell the software for cheap.

Microsoft do not make PC hardware that subsidises the cost of the OS, they have to put the time and money in to make sure their OS is compatible with as many different configurations of PC as possible, they make their money on software hence the higher price.

Here's the thing;

Used games should be banned. They should be illegal - it is basically a stores way of stealing money from the developer and publisher. Especially when, like in almost every store that sells used games, you go up to the counter with a new box, and they say "You can buy it used for this much less, do you want it?"

It's downright nasty and in any other media would be illegal.

People don't buy used games because it's "open", people buy used games because they're cheaper. Apple skips that by offering software for cheaper to begin with.

Apple doesn't offer anything. Developers do. And you are naive if you think that the likes of EA, Activision, etc would EVER release a game as complex and high-quality as those on the Xbox 360 or PS3 for just a few dollars on an Apple platform. You're just deluding yourself my friend.

Besides, I don't see the successors to the Xbox 360 and PS3 completely blocking second-hand games, even if they block them at all. At worst they'll just implement a way to force second-hand purchasers into paying a nominal "license transfer" fee to claim legal ownership of the license to play that game. As it stands now, license agreements in game state that you own the license only, not the game, and the license is non-transferrable. It is therefore technically illegal for anybody buying that disc to run the software contained on it as they do not have a license to do so. The "license transfer" fee is the way they'll go I think.

Blocking resales will have three effects

Less early sales as those that realise wait for prices to drop instead.
More returned products as those that didn't realise find out.
Court cases over first-sale doctrine in the US and any similar laws in other countries.

Well, they've been doing it with music, movies and books for longer than they have video games and nobody is raising a fuss.

This.

Either piracy should be legalised or used game sales fall under piracy when prohibited by the license set out by the author.
