BASIC programming & Windows 7

[Hum]

My old BASIC programs won't run on my Windows 7 64-bit system.

Is there a way around this, or do I need to get a different BASIC programming language to rewrite my original programs ?

(Yes, I tried Win XP compatabilty mode.)

And these are rather unique personal programs -- I can't just download ready-made software that does what they do.

I have downloaded a simple version of Liberty BASIC, but it does not entirely get along with Windows 7.

Oh, and I downloaded Small BASIC from Microsoft, but I have not investigated this yet.

Any positive suggestions would be appreciated.

most BASIC programming languages from back in the day where 16-bit, which will not work on a 64-bit system... you'd need a VM running a 32-bit OS like DOS or Win XPx86, etc...

My BASIC programs were created with a 32-bit proggy -- however, Win7 64-bit does not like them.

I hadn't even realized my Win 7 was 64-bit, until I had to recently repair my netbook.

Well, after trying more of my home-made programs, they do Run under Windows 7.

Seems to be just one that Windows doesn't like.

It's been so long -- maybe it was created as 16-bit.

Guess I will need to rewrite and compile.
