Hunting for scraps of food can be tiring work and one cheeky crow decided conserve his energy by hitching a ride on the back of an eagle mid-flight.

The birds, which had both been hunting for food in Kyeonggi-do, South Korea, normally fight each other for food - but on this occasion, the pair had obviously decided to call a truce.

Photographer Hyeongchol Kim had gone to the site - where humans often leave scraps of food for the birds - in a bid to capture the birds eating on camera.

But he was stunned when he caught the smaller bird saving some energy - by swooping in on the eagle and perching himself on its back.
