The Chevy Caprice PPV is a stretched Pontiac G8 (meaning special body parts) which is no longer produced in the US, so it's marketed as a 'captive import.' Some departments will see as a negative because of parts availability etc. Ford controls about 70% of the US patrol car market, their PPV's are made in Chicago and you can get Taurus parts & body panels in every small town.

Ha none of this beats the vehicle our local sheriff drives around in. It's a black Escalade that his department took from a drug dealer.

On a more serious note, the local city police has started replacing some of it's higher mileage crown vics with Chargers.
