People fill captchas everyday without issues, but as soon as a company figures how to turn that activity into something useful it suddenly becomes slavery?

yeah, I could easily argue that people filling out captchas for google is paying for the person to use their free service even though its also ad supplemented for physical income

Captchas did the same thing. The words in the captchas are from scanned books, words that the text. Recognition didnt recognize, or well one of them is.

I personally cover my house number over to stop the FBI Van outside knowing what number it is, it must be working because they haven't broken down the door yet.

They already can guess what it is since the houses are numbered based on a numbering system. Here in my home town, all the houses are numbered oldly and evenly. On my sitreet, it is even. My number is 156, my left is 154 and the right is 158. So they just find the missing number in middle.

House numbering is public information. I mean how could postman work out where to go to post your mail? hmm? also newspaper delivery. Everything outside your house is visble to the outside world. You would need a opague dome covering the yard to have complete privacy.

Maybe this is why Google thinks my house is on a different street with a different number now.

Some captchas are (Google's and probably others as well), some are just garbled text.

Google just found a way to monetize on a task that users would be doing anyway.

Which is wonderful, and all, but if you didn't file at town hall to built your underground dwelling, you're in a heap of trouble. And if you did... well, it's not much of a secret any more. :shifty:

You'd best sell it and build a floating house that can hide in the clouds. Then you'll be safe until they start flying Google planes.

you can live next to rainbow dash!!!

Google uses (since they own it) "ʀeCAPTCHA". The words are garbled on purpose (But at the core, they're just words that OCR software failed to recognise)
