As the poll States do you spend more money each month of food or fuel

I spend approx. $350 to $450 a month on fuel and only approx $120 a month on food.

I spend roughly $120-150 per month on gas. Not sure exactly how much I spend on food, but I know it's a bit more than that. Granted, it's food for 2 people though. Also usually go out for a nice dinner about once a month, so there's $120 right there.

I voted 'Yes'.

But it varies month to month. Usually $50-$80 on food.
Full tank of fuel varies between $50-$60 depending on price
and depending on how much driving I do, is how much fuel I buy (full tank only gets me ~380km until I get my gearbox replaced)
so sometimes I can be buying $100+ worth of fuel a month

Gas, compared to food, is pretty cheap. Even if you get a 2 liter bottle of soda for $0.99, that's $3.74 a gallon, or about what gas costs around here. Same with milk.

Heck, 1 gallon of gas is around 7 pounds, or about $28 worth of good chicken, even more than that for fish.

I realize you use gas in relatively greater quantities, but it is worth noting that the price of a gallon of gas is really just 1 small part in the rising cost of living expenses.

I budget about the same for fuel and food but i tend to use more on the fuel budget than food. $200 for fuel and $200 for food but at $86 to fill my truck up and 15.4 miles to work (30.8 miles to and from), at $3.88-3.96/gal and about $86 to fill up my truck lasting a week and a half usually, it eats me dry. Until I can afford to get a new vehicle (after i get my first house), I'll be spending a small fortune on gas going the distance in a fuel-hungry '97 F-150.

i eat out all the time. this city has wayyyyyyyy to many good restaurants for me not to want to... also i love mcdicks when im drunk. 300+ish a month on food no problem for me. gas maybe 60, but i do bus it to work. plus, food is expensive.

i run a duel fuel car mainly on lpg so it costs me stuff all to run my car =]

I spend about $270-300 a month on gas, so yes. However, most of that gas is reimbursed for work travel.

I voted I starve, hahaha. Honestly I feel like I do recently. I don't really eat breakfast much, and I've been so busy recently I forget to eat dinner until way too late.

I just got a 98 Accord 4 cylinder though, so here's to saving some money on gas! My last car was costing me about $320 a month. Looks like this car will cost me closer to $200 a month. Nice little savings there. But no, I doubt that I spend more on gas still. Food is ridiculously priced now days. Even when I was younger, my parents could get food for the whole family at a fast food place (as example) for $15 or so. Now half the places you go to would cost $30-40 for a family of 4 to get food. There's barely anything in my work cafeteria for less than $6-7 for just the food (I usually just drink water). Food prices are almost more ridiculous to me than gas prices.

I spend about 250-300 CDN on gas a month for a 2012 corolla le and on average I also spend the same on food some delta variations but fuel seems to be inching higher and higher ...

then again in a day I put guaranteed about 84km (to - from work) + other errands in the weekends and what not ... don't go out and eat much but I have been indulging at least once a month or so

I voted yes, but it depends. I spend between 100 and 150$ a month on Gas. It's currently 1.30/L here so to fill up (which lasts almost a week and a half depending on if it's just city driving or if I am driving a distance). To fill up is about 60$ so that 2-3 times a month ads up. Groceries cost about 80$ for two weeks, but with eating out it can range from 150-200$ a month. However I don't always buy my own meals/eat 3 meals a day.

We're lucky only spending about £60-70 on petrol each month. Living close to work helps.
We can spend this much on food most weeks between normal dinners, lunches, and a few luxury items, steak and a few carryouts etcs.

Fuel is too expensive, I cycle to work instead, loads more fun than sitting in traffic
