Yap.

Drugs.

Goodbye creativity and critical thinking.

ADD/ADHD as an adult vs as a child is something entirely different, and can possibly be a disorder.

But as a kid? IT'S CALLED BEING A KID! Whoops, not focusing in a structured learning environment which treats you a bit better than a prisoner, guess I have a serious disorder only brain altering drugs can temporarily workaround and cause a whole host of other problems with development!

If you can't tell, I'm still upset by my childhood. Granted we knew nothing about health back then compared to today (blindly trusting people in power), but I'm permanently changed and there's nothing I can ever do about it except hope reincarnation is true!

Things to watch:

Things to watch:

I'm diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed essentially 'speed' (Concerta XL)

When I was young they thought I was either a genius child or a little ****ard :D ADHD was mentioned about me back then but no official diagnoses until I was in my 30s

and looking back to before I was taking anything I used to be a very creative person, used to spend hours moving furniture around the house until I realised for the 10th time there is no other way for it to go lol

Then do it again a week later :p

And other things like sitting for hours with a draw full of old electronic and power supplies and 6 hours later have a radio controlled vacuum cleaner or something crazy

Creativity and other things I would spend ages doing has been dulled I guess but I can focus for longer on important things that wouldn't hold my attention before so it has its goods and bads I suppose

Plus its got me a pass through a maths exam recently and I know nothing / want to know nothing about maths

Brain power in a pill :p

god, im glad I wasnt proscirbed it was a kid, I still never have took anything, but I probably should go talk to a doctor, considering it effects my work... but its so fun to hide in the recycling and scare people!

It was a joke to say people with ADHD get side tracked and move on.

It's not just a USA thing. I lol'd.

This is true. I was diagnosed at 4 was on cylert then ritalin then prozac now just adderall xr but it's not only getting side tracked, most with ADHD and ADD are sporadic and always wanting to go go go. my friends noticed the difference because i was less sporadic lol

Well I have ADHD, ODD, PDD, OCD and severe anxiety and have been on medication since I was five years old. I'm not sure, but I feel the medication did more harm to me than it did any good and doesn't seem to be doing much for me other than making my thought process and reaction times sluggish. I feel as if I don't have clarity, everything seems hazy and I'm constantly drowsy and have little motivation. I don't do well in social situations, have disorganized speech, even more so when I get nervous/anxious. I'm just a whole melting pot of issues and I don't feel things are going to get much better for me. :(

One hell of a combo, and I imagine one hell of a cocktail of meds to boot. Sorry to hear. :(

Are you under 18? Because the brain keeps changing till roughly 25. so dont freak as things change. PDD is typically childhood talk for autism

I take three different medications, one is an anti-depressant, another is an anti-anxiety and the last is an anti-psychotic. And yeah PDD is an offspring of Autism I believe, lowest on the spectrum compared to full blown autism. I'm not stupid, just a tad slower at things than "normal" folks. I am over eighteen, I am twenty eight to be exact. ;)

I HATE these drugs i refuse to take tylenol (expect last night - toothache). so yea.

I think I **** my friends off, they will just want to relax and play games, I want to run around and go hiking or do something fun, like put suits on, wear sun glasses and an earpiece, and then run around chasing someone downtown :D

I actually wish randomly sprinting was a social norm. some times im walking and just want to start running, but sadly i have asthma :(
