Emon
Their team developed a sleeping pad for infants to help prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and other respiratory diseases. This pad monitors the infant?s heartbeat, breathing and movement. https://apps.faceboo...=0&fb_bmpos=1_0 FiB3R 1 Share

Ben Dyson
Well Done and what a good idea, anything to save a life of a young infant should be done in my eyes.
rfirth
"Every time parents put their baby to sleep, there is a 50% chance they won't wake up" [Toward the end of the video, at 3:33] What? Not many babies would survive more than a week if that was true [probability of a fair coin landing on heads [waking up] 7 times in a row]... probably should have checked their statistics... This pad... have they actually developed it? How does a pad [in a practical manner] check those statistics? What does the processing? How is it connected to the network/internet? Apart from those little things, the idea and software look great.

Yeah that's a mistake, the 50% chance is for premature babies I guess. The pad isn't really fully cooked yet. I have helped them a little bit with the Pad development. They used netduino plus with accelerometer, heartbeat sensors etc to capture the raw data. Then used pachube to share the data between desktop and phone apps.
