If you own The Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings Premium Edition the Enhanced Edition is FREE

It's been a while since I've been on TW2AK due to the fact it was riddled with bugs and I put the game on the back burner for nearly a year. I proceeded to install the game, and then remembered how long the game takes to install, so I went and made a cup of coffee and sat down and watched some basketball and came back about 40 minutes later and it was just finishing off the installation.

Started the game put the CD Key in and then proceeded to download the Enhanced Edition pack which has to be one of the biggest patches of a game I have ever seen 10.35GB. Downloading the patches about 45 minutes on a 100MB connection was pants. it takes about an hour to extract and install the patch; therefore, be prepared to better yourself with something else to do because sitting there and watching the statusbar tinkering along wont make the installation any faster. go and mow the lawn or wash the car... do anything apart from sitting and watching the download/extraction/installation. The installation takes about 10 minutes, it's the download/extraction that takes the longest part of the patch. But it's worth the wait because it's a huge difference over the previous Premium version.

"A watched kettle never boils" so to speak...

"Is it worth 45 minutes downloading the Enhanced Edition Patch? Is it worth waiting for nearly an hour to install the Enhanced Edition patch...?"

... Oh yes every single minute is worth downloading and installing. "The difference in the game you notice straight away. Although, if you haven't played the game before the enhanced edition then you wont notice anything at all."

It's taken about 1hr:48min to download extract and install which is the elephant in the room, but an added bonus. You save £34.99 when you already own the Premium Edition so the elephant in the room becomes a mouse. In other words it's minuscule.

Don't forget to restart you PC before playing The Witcher 2 Assassins Of Kings Enhanced Edition

Didn't have any problems here, actually just reinstalled it, I started the installer, switched back to my browser, and within 15 minutes it was done, I was quite surprised how quick it was, thought it was going to take much longer. I also never restarted after installing and didn't have any problems.

Yeah, TW2 EE has very large files, but unless you have a very slow HD or never defrag you shouldn't have any insane install times.

To my surprise, it didn't take long to install on my computer. I figured it would at least take 20 minutes to install all that data but I was up and running in less than 10.

Same, my game partition is pretty fragmented and considering it was a 10GB patch. I was expecting a big install, but 10-15 minutes and it was ready.
Not played it yet though
