Is it possible to link images in Pages rather than embed them?

Normally it's not an issue to just drag an image into my document and have it embedded, but this adds to the overall file size and also doesn't update the image.

You can do linked images in Word, the main advantage being that if the linked image is updated/changed elsewhere, it's immediately reflected in Word. I want to do this in Pages but can't figure out how. Is it even possible?

This sounds like something which could be useful, since I use pages to make online PDF files and other things, if you find out how to do this, let me know please.

I've looked again and I just don't think it's possible. I've checked virtually every option you can do with an image in Pages, and there is seemingly no way to "link" images, unless it's some obscure setting I'm missing.
