Drunken men smashed 23 vehicles out of boredom

The two people arrested this week by investigators ? Keith Dekoeyer, 20, and Christopher Jackson, 21, might have gotten away with damaging nearly two-dozen vehicles in the DeLand area over the past month ? except Jackson got too personal and decided to slash his boss' tires, according to a news release from the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

According to investigators, Jackson was bored and looking for something to do when he called his friend and former co-worker, Dekoeyer, and suggested they drive around and throw stuff at cars. So, for several weeks, the two would go out drinking at night and then drive around damaging vehicles. Dekoeyer did the driving in his Jeep Wrangler because Jackson?s driver?s license was suspended, while Jackson did the damage, according to the release.

This two-man crime team would randomly strike vehicles by smashing out windows with bricks, denting cars, slashing tires and defacing cars with green spray paint, the report states.

But Jackson got mad at his boss at Winn Dixie over some workplace issues and told Dekoeyer one night to drive to his boss? apartment. Once there, Jackson slashed all four tires on his boss? truck, according to the release.

The very next night, the duo reportedly drove by the apartment complex again and saw that the boss had replaced his tires. Jackson thought it would be funny to slash the new tires, so he did, the release states.

But after Jackson started bragging to co-workers, word got back to his boss, who contacted the Sheriff?s Office.
