First Official Synopsis for Guillermo del Toro

Recommended Posts

I agree it was terrible. You'd think giant robots fighting giant monsters would be a recipe for a great action film, somehow Guillermo Del Toro managed to do the impossible and make ruin it. The plot was non existent, they had way too much "story" too early in the film.

I can imagine some DVD extras with Idris Elba dieing inside every time he had some dialogue.

"1 - Don't touch me again. 2 - Don't touch me again"

People in the cinema actually laughed when he said that, it didn't sound like ironic laughter either.

I guess I just went into this the same way I went into most 80's action movies,

or Rambo, or The Expendables: sit back, eat the popcorn, and root for the good guys.

I wasn't expecting Oscar-winning performances, dialogue, or plot lines. I just wanted to

see big ass robots beating up big ass monsters. And I got that. What I DIDN'T get was

"one of the worst movies I've ever seen". I watched Sharknado, so the bar for that

qualification is a lot higher (lower?) than what Pacific Rim showed me.

I know, I've seen the movie twice.

Was only trying to clarify things :p
