Gmail on Android

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I've read reviews and it seems Gmail is the best app by most people for Android - I hear people saying they use it with multiple email accounts in the Gmail app, how do you do this?

For example I have 3 emails with "custom" domain extensions, one being surf@hollisterbay.com for example -

I have a gmail account which is @gmail.com but I never use it, I just set that up to have gmail in first place

How do I add/manage my 3 other email accounts under my gmail app on my android device? I always find this stuff hard at first to set up

Thank you in advance

there's pop/exchange email client too in which you can Add multiple email accounts,

but if you want specifically Gmail Application, then forward all the emails to Gmail.

and you can customise those forwarded emails in Gmail as Labels.

k9 is alright, but honestly, I use gmail and nothing more. It's pretty enough for me. K9 has a ton of more functionalities that I personally don't need :) But yeah, far as I know, k9 is the most popular / featured out there.

Add all your Gmail accounts (if your "custom domain" accounts are Google Apps accounts, that is) on "settings -> accounts & sync", as enable synchronization on them.

Now when you open the Gmail client you should be able to select the account from a dropdown menu at the top left.

I have one single account on my phone's Gmail app, but that worked with my wife's tablet. The only other mail account I check there is the one from work, and I prefer using the plain Mail app for that one.

Yea, I have an older email account from my ISP that I still kind of use. But I have all the email forwarded to GMAIL and use labels to tell which email address it came from. GMAIL also allows you to send as a different email address once you have them linked together. Pretty sweet.
