How about giving it to the rest of the country before bumping the speeds up, *****.

Have to disagree. Bumping the speed up will not, (or at least shouldn't), effect the current rolling out of the fibre to cabinets.

Though I guess you're frustrated, which is understandable as some of the speeds/service in Britain is beyond terrible.

I'm confused, this will be available in all BT Infinity areas, or do they have to be especially upgraded separately for this service?

If you have FTTP then you can get it, if not you will have to wait until "fibre on demand" launches next year where you can pay for a fibre cable to be installed in your home (assuming the cabinet on your road is FTTC enabled).

Did I hear that it was going to be about 2 grand to install FoD?

I guess it also depends on how many others in your street are doing it as well.

I think the prices are £80 a month and installation is about £250. That is nuts. I love speed but not at that price.

This news isn't that great to be fair, but hats off to BT for slowly moving forward.

Unfortunately OpenReach need to replace 60 year old system. It's going to take a massive undertaking not to mention we won't see FTTP being the normal for at least 10-15 years (going off the top of my head.)

Didn't Verizon talk about upgrading FiOS to 300Mbps. Lord have mercy, the US is lucky! I hear in the UK everything is faster.
