Hey All,

Can you change the default search engine from Google to another one like Yahoo, in Firefox?

Please write back

Sincerely,
Cnon

Yup, hit the little pulldown menu to the left of the search box. Pick your engine of choice or "Manage Search Engines."

You certainly can, and it doesn't take much to search for that online. I would post a LMGTFY link, but I don't feel like being that mean today.

In the search box in the top right of the browser, you can see a little logo for Google. Right next to that on the right hand side is a little arrow. Select that and now select a new search engine.

the solution above only changes the searchbox, for the default, you have to dive into about:config and change
keyword.URL to your desired one. In my case, I use this url querry http://www.bing.com/...ch?form=QBRE&q=
So if you want to use yahoo, you have to find its equivalent.

As long as you download the plug-ins (from Mozilla add-ons) you can change the default search engine in Firefox's runbar. In about:config (enter about:config) into the runbar & click enter.

Ignore the warning about dragons & type into the filter bar ~

browser.search.defaultenginename

Click on the string to open the dialogue box (Enter string value) , delete Google & type in the search engine of your choice (remember you have to have downloaded the plug-in).

Click OK, then the home button and you have finished.

I recommend Duck Duck Go SSL

Honestly, you don't get this with SeaMonkey, it can all be done in preferences. Mozilla don't want you to change from Google easily.
