Pendulum Break Up

Recommended Posts

It has been revealed today that hugely successful Perth-born, London-based drum?n?bass/rock exponents Pendulum will no longer continue as an entity, with the band?s Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen focusing instead on their new Knife Party project.

Swire has changed his twitter bio recently to announce that there will be no more Pendulum shows and that an album is not on the cards for 2013 as previously announced.

He solidified talk of a Pendulum split in an interview with triple j, saying that it was no longer fun playing with the band that made them so famous.

?The Knife Party thing is going so well we don't really feel like going back to junior school anytime soon,? he told the station?s Linda Marigliano. ?We're having too much fun with this project. It's also great because Pendulum towards the end sort of felt like we were doing it because we had to and that's never a fun way to do music. Whereas Knife Party is pretty much solely us doing what we want to and if no one likes it we don't care.?

Aw man. There's nothing like some pendulum now and again, it's a shame to hear they won't be coming out with more stuff.

Yeah as a fan of Metal I loved Self Vs Self since In Flames are one of my favourite bands. Really hoped they would do a few more songs like that :(

meh, they made a few decent songs here and there, their music got a bit stale towards the end.... think they realised that aswell, time to move on! Good hearing their music

Gutted, seen these guys a few times and they've always been good. But I think they got a bit samey towards the end. Having said that, i'm loving the stuff Rob and Gareth are bringing out as Knife Party!

I didn't even know they were knife party.

Ah well, we can finally put a long overdue nail in the coffin about pendulum being DnB, they've NOT been DnB for a very long time although don't get me wrong, their last rock album was great if you like rock (and I thought it was brilliant).
