Italy's antitrust chief warns on Google "monopoly"

Recommended Posts

(Reuters) - Google risks becoming a publishing monopoly within a few years, Italy's antitrust chief said on Tuesday, adding that social networks should be subject to antitrust limits.

"In the course of a few years, Google could become a monopoly in this market," Giovanni Pitruzzella told Italy's lower house of parliament, referring to the publishing sector.

The country's antitrust regulation should extend to internet media including social networks, which are competing with traditional publishing companies for advertising revenues, Pitruzzella added.

Maybe the competition should do a better job to displace Google, Microsoft have been in the search market longer than Google so have no excuses really.

Because oil companies aren't running their competitors into the ground. Monsanto is the second largest, not the first, in its industry which means it can't possibly have a monopoly.

it does in the seed market..... 99% of seed companies seeds come from monsanto... and they are GMO with all kinds of anti-piracy crap attatched.... they will prosecute any farmers that have organic crops (non GMO) if a neighboring farm has monsanto seeds and they get blown on your property they have anti-piracy brigades that literally will check the fields routinely to check for the GMO seeds, then if they find any on your property you are charged with piracy and theft and prosecuted!! that's how evil that company is they need stopped and prosecuted and not google. monsanto also does very dangerous things as well if you google it.
