Tango update for Nokia Lumia 710 and 800 start rolling out

Nokia has begun to roll out an update for the Nokia Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 offering a number of enhancements, including some of the newest features of the Windows Phone 7.5 platform. The most notable enhancements in this package include:

Wi-Fi tethering capability added

Flip-to-silence function added

Enhanced imaging performance

Nokia Drive Update

The update will be made available over the coming weeks and can be downloaded and installed by performing a Zune update via PC (or Windows Phone Connector for Mac). All owners will receive the update and should connect to Zune regularly to ensure that they have the most up-to-date software.

Someone on XDA says the update is already available for the Lumia 800 via Zune and they have the Union Jack as their country flag

lol, try rebooting the phone, if they are genuine about it, it should be out for everyone in the UK at once I would have thought, this isn't a provider update afaik, its bypassing them straight from Nokia I think, and the future 7.8 updates are bypassing both and coming straight from MS

Some lumia 900s shipped with tango already. Check your version number. Tango is version 7.10.8773.98.

Nothing for the Lumia 710 in the UK yet either... UK are usually one of the last countries to get Android updates, so if they use the same roll out timetable I imagine the same will be true for WP

turn the phone into airplane mode.

check in zune for an update if it says its upto date click ok, the press one above or below the update option.

next click update and around 2-3seconds disconect from your internet conection, hopefully it will say update available, reconect click ok, and sit back

Yeah, that's the update method many of us used to get the NoDo and Mango updates ahead of schedule. You might want to try it a couple of times as it's important to get the timing right.

Been trying that nodo trick for about 30 mins, cant get it to work. Wondering if it only works for unbranded/unlocked phones at the moment, or only ever works for unbranded/unlocked phones.

Since tango is a minor update I'm wondering if it's just going to be a slow rollout? I mean MS hasn't even officially posted anything online yet that I see. You would expect some type of press release to go up on the windows phone website at least.

I also wonder what this means for 7.8? We don't know if that's coming before WP8, same time, or after? Oh well, keep trying guys, we'll get it at some point.

Yea same here and I`m only getting either "No internet connection" or "Already up to date"

I've been tempted a few times to unlock and unbrand mine but with the whole unlocking WP and custom WP ROMs thing being so new, and no 100% guaranteed way to recover a phone if it goes pear shaped I decided to hold off this time

I'm in the UK, Lumia 800 on o2 I got the update at about 7pm, mine said it installed 3 updates in total, two for tango/mango refresh and one from nokia.
