She might look like a right pug-ugly, but police are hoping to reunite this forgotten pooch with her owners after she was left behind at a service station.

And the mournful-faced pooch has every reason for a hang-dog expression after was discovered by a lorry driver tied to a bench at a motorway stop in Grafenstein, Austria.

Local police do not believe she was abandoned deliberately, and think her owners simply forgot her.

"The dog is in good condition and was obviously well cared for.

"It is currently in an animal shelter until we work out where it's from," said a police spokesman

"It has an identity chip but unfortunately we haven't been able to find the owner yet," they added.
