Almost immediately after learning of Federal Judge Lucy Koh's order granting Apple's request for a preliminary injunction on Galaxy Nexus devices, Samsung filed a motion to stay the ban — primarily until the appellate court could consider the merits of its appeal. Judge Koh has now issued an order denying Samsung's request, thus ensuring the injunction will remain in place for the time being.

Hey look, I don't agree with a decision, ergo 2 judges have been bribed.. Oh and all the others that have ruled in Apple's favor to date too..

Couldn't possibly be the fact that Apple is on legal ground.. The patent laws suck, but they are the laws.. Judges can't just ignore it cause it's stupid..

No.. first of all judge has the right to even discard the patent if it's too broad or there is a chance that there is prior art.

Second, corruption is at it's highest in these cases (maybe corruption is too strong of a word but definitely bias and relationships). For Apple to get most of these patents is terrible terrible misuse of patent system by USPTO.

The problem is that Apple generates a lot of money for California and US in general in tax revenue (even though it's abusing the tax system and paying very small piece of taxes they SHOULD be paying), they are still able to blackmail states in terms of moving their headquarters out of State, so they are given these patents willy nilly just because of it. Not to mention that half of these judges and USPTO don't even understand what they are giving the patents for. Due to this they have huge influence over judges and their decisions as we can clearly see.

Judge Posner was absolutely right and that's how you need to handle these cases. Dismiss them and make Apple build a better device and not sue with bought patents (btw, patent in question has been BOUGHT by Apple from a 3rd party), so this is CLEARLY an abuse of the patent system and trolling.

according to All Things D, Google and Sammy have already got a workaround ready to go and the software patch implementing it will be pushed out "imminently." So, in actuality, the news isn't that bad for Android lovers

So Google and Samsung indirectly admit they were in the wrong.

Gotta love Apple, calling them like it is.

LOL.. holy batman.. talk about completely disconnected reasoning.

No, they didn't admit anything. They are doing a workaround so they can prevent this corrupted injunction preventing sales of Galaxy Nexus..

Google and Samsung have a patch readied to address the issue that could be rolling out over the air as soon as tonight. We just spoke with a Google spokesperson, who informed us that the update, which will be rolling out to all Galaxy Nexus devices in the US regardless of carrier, will essentially dumb down the quick search bar on the Android homescreen, limiting its results to just those from the web. No local searches will be performed at all, taking on-device apps, gmail, and other search results out of play. Voice search, which has been a point of content in the trial, will be retained — but it will be restrained to the same set of limited search results.

So they removed the feature that is the reason of the ban.

I just can't wait to see if Google manages to ban iPhones and iPads from US based on Apple ripping off and using their patents. God that would be wonderful.

I know Google are the good guys here and they probably won't ask for injunction but I so wish they would stick to the ban and simply refuse to make any kind of agreement with Apple and completely destroy them.

How did you come up with that conclusion? Because two companies don't want their flagship product sitting on the shelf because of some bs patent trolling...
