Drug dealer was selling drugs to lift people's mood

A DRUG dealer who claimed he was selling narcotics to raise people?s moods "during today?s gloomy climate" has been given a suspended sentence.

Michael Tighe (37) was found with ketamine, Ecstasy, GHB and cannabis when gardai raided his home.

During interview he said he did not see himself as a drug dealer because he only sold to his circle of friends at various parties.

He said he sold the drugs to create the best possible atmosphere at parties, given ?today?s gloomy climate.?

He said he also used them to self medicate for his depression.

Tighe of Kenilworth Square, Rathmines pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to possession for sale or supply of ?3,750 worth of ketamine and ecstasy tablets.

Smaller amounts of the other drugs were also found in his home.

The court heard he took full responsibility for the substances and is now drug free.

Judge Martin Nolan imposed a three year sentence suspended in full for three years.

So he gets away with it because he wasn't really selling them on the streets?

I see nothing wrong with this. As long as you don't deal hard drugs or to anyone who is underage :p, this man is a hero!

I agree with the judge. Maybe have him do more community service.

By community service, you mean keep selling drugs? :D
