Woman Sells Soul on e-Bay

Recommended Posts

A woman in New Mexico has offered to sell her soul in order to help make ends meet. Nothing is off limits to the winner :shifty: of the auction on eBay, and the woman told NBC she would "deliver the opportunity for someone to save my soul."

"I'm at the point now, I'm tired," she explained. The woman, known only as Lori N. told NBC that she had been in a bad car accident in 2007 and had never fully healed. In that accident she suffered a broken hip, pelvis, leg, collarbone, sternum and ribs.

Lori currently works as a freelance writer, but times are tough and she is doing her best to make ends meet.

"I don't feel good," Lori said. "I'm near the end of my rope? I really am."

It's not known what exactly led the woman to list her soul on eBay, though some might see it as a desperate act by a desperate woman.

"What I'm gonna deliver is the opportunity for someone to save my soul. They can save it through prayer, they can save it through conversion," she explained. "They're also gonna get a certificate detailing the white and black marks on my soul."

Bids currently start at $2,000, but so far there have been no offers. eBay has yet to comment on the unusual listing, but the online site does have a "Human Remains and Body Parts Policy" section on its site.

"We don't allow humans, the human body, or any human body parts or products to be listed on eBay, with two exceptions. Sellers can list items containing human scalp hair, and skulls and skeletons intended for medical use," the site states.

There is no specific admonition against selling one's soul, though many religious leaders would frown upon such an act. The idea of selling a soul is more frequently associated with making a deal with the devil, or Satan.

Lori has not commented on whether she will be selective in deciding who wins her soul, if eBay does not shut down the sale first.

Reminds me of a Simpsons episode where Bart sells his sole to Comic Book Guy, and Lisa buys it back, but not before allowing Bart to be tormented over his decision.

No link to the auction?

You really want to bid eh? Look it up on ebay. Anyway, I'm thinking the closest one comes to the soul another is when sex occurs. Good hot passionate sex. But then I looked at the article and the picture. I'll pass. Give me a six pack and maybe I'll bid 5 bucks.

The listing appears to no longer be up, but KOB reports that the starting bid for Lori N's soul was $2,000.
