WTF Microsoft?

I just renewed two XBL 48 hour codes. Both legitimate, one from Mass Effect 2 and one from RB6V but it still wont let me play online/join a party/whatever. Its still acting like im silver. Both codes went in ok with confirmation that i could now play online. As I entered the RB6V one first I thought it may have been cos it was such an old code but then it still didnt work after I entered the second Mass Effect one.

Anyone come across this before? Any way to fix it? Ive tried turning the xbox on and off/ restarting/ signing in and out. Im out of ideas.

According to that forum (which is 5 days old, with posts as recent as today), there seems to be issues with 48 hour codes right now. You could try calling customer support, though if it is a server issue, I don't think that they could do much. But they are pretty easy to get in contact with nonetheless, so may as well give it a shot. Also, as far as I know, it just gives you gold access, not the title of gold. You will still display as silver.

Nah Im in the UK. Thanks for the offer though mate. I dont really play on the xbox much anymore, hench the use of the odd 48hr codes.

I thought the 48 hour codes you got with games could only be redeemed if you had never had gold? Or is it just if you don't currently have gold....either way try Xbox support on twitter if you use twitter they're normally fairly good on there.

That is not an acceptable solution, and I would personally let support know this. If you just accept it as is, you will never get it resolved. Just have to be persistent.

I would expect they would give you a week free pass or something for the issues. Man Xbox is freaking stingy.
