Anibal P
There's no talk of side effects, that fact alone makes me distrust it completely, all "miracle" drugs seem to have side effects that make the drug worthless unless you are desperate, which a condom and not being promiscuous can easily fix Charisma 1 Share
Pharm88
Truvada does have side effects... potentially quite a few. It is a combo medication of 2 nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors. It is the backbone for HIV/AIDs treatment. If you have HIV/AIDs and you're virus isn't resistant, then you should be on this drug. It is not benign by any means but is definitely one of the better treatments to be on. I think this decision by the FDA is fairly rushed. Did they take into account the potential of increasing HIV resistance? This might knock out one of our best drugs to fight the HIV virus. While I agree preventing the transmission of the virus is the most important goal, I'm not sure if this is the best way to do it.

Growled Member Posted July 17, 2012 Member Share Posted July 17, 2012 I know it will have multiple side effects but at least it gives HIV victims a chance. That's more than they had before.
