"Do you think that it is accidental that the name of the really vicious fire breathing four eyed whatever it is villain in this movie is named Bain [sic]?" Limbaugh asked on his radio show today, according to a transcript of the audio on his show's website.
But the character Bane first appeared in Batman comics in 1993. The Bane character in "The Dark Knight Rises" was chosen in early 2011.
Limbaugh continued, questioning whether or not the villain would influence voters at all.
This movie, the audience is gonna be huge. A lot of people are gonna see the movie, and it's a lot of brain-dead people, entertainment, the pop culture crowd, and they're gonna hear Bane in the movie and they're gonna associate Bain. The thought is that when they start paying attention to the campaign later in the year, and Obama and the Democrats keep talking about Bain, Romney and Bain, that these people will think back to the Batman movie, "Oh, yeah, I know who that is." (laughing) There are some people who think it'll work. Others think you're really underestimating the American people to think that will work.

This is one of the lamest of Obummers ad campaigns, especially since his administration has been doing a lot of what Bain did - venture capitalism, but just with his corporate supporters.

This summer's much-anticipated Hollywood blockbuster, "The Dark Knight Rises," is getting an unusual boost from Democrats and other foes of Mitt Romney who are eager to tie the Gotham crushing villain to the GOP presidential candidate. Their angle: the mask-wearing, "Venom" gas breathing bad guy has a name that sounds just like Romney's former investment firm that President Obama has been blasting as a jobs killer.

"Bane" is the terrorist in the new movie who drives the caped crusader out of semi-retirement in the final Batman movie. Democrats, who believe they have Romney on the ropes over the president's assault on his leadership at Bain Capital, said the comparisons are too rich to ignore.

"It has been observed that movies can reflect the national mood," said Democratic advisor and former Clinton aide Christopher Lehane. "Whether it is spelled Bain and being put out by the Obama campaign or Bane and being out by Hollywood, the narratives are similar: a highly intelligent villain with offshore interests and a past both are seeking to cover up who had a powerful father and is set on pillaging society," he added.

As the Friday release date has neared, liberal blogs were the first to connect Batman's toughest foe with Romney's firm. But now even some conservatives, concerned Romney isn't fighting the Bain attacks hard enough, see a similarity in the epic DC Comics fight and the political campaign.

Wow.. you guys will eat up just about anything an online publication will publish.

Do you really think this was all setup by hollywood to portrait Mitt Romney in a bad light? A comic book character? From 20 years ago... somehow knew that Obama/Romney was coming... so they built Bane's character off of Romney? Wow. Quite the conspiracy ya got there.

How about a word from Chuck Dixon, Bane's creator? He doesn't like Rush, but he also doesn't like this

http://www.washingto...aracters-romne/

Batman villain creator reacts to character's comparison to Romney - 'Ridiculous'..'Overgrasping Dems'

Well here's a non-sensical comparison from Democrats for the Obama campaign to use. According to Paul Bedard at The Washington Examiner, the Obama campaign takes Batman's new enemy Bane, a pumped up venom gas breathing maniac, in the movie "The Dark Knight Rises" and compares him to presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, because of the Massachusetts GOP'ers previous work with the investment firm Bain Capital, which Obama and Democrats say was a job killer. Get it--Bane and Bain?....
>
Comic book writer Chuck Dixon created the character of Bane with Graham Nolan in the early 90's and Dixon's reaction to the news above, according to his message board on his website Dixonverse.net, was "I saw it on FB like two hours ago. Ridiculous. Tho' I got a cold feeling in the pit of my stomach that Rush (Limbaugh) may pick up on this. And that would be the second time he pegged me and Graham as liberals on his show."

He later added, "Overgrasping Dems? Hey, if it gets Obama supporters into theaters. Maybe they'll buy thousands of Bane toys to throw at Romney. It all adds to MY Bane capital. I wonder if the Romney campaign will contact me?"

So now I guess we can add overgrasping Rush and so forth given that Rush is now the one carrying that torch.

Really??? They think people will be that dumb to confuse a made up character in a movie with a company Romney had something to do with?
This is really far fetched
