Question about retrieving deleted text messages

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. I'm posting this for a coworker. I don't use Android, so I really don't know if this is possible or not.

A couple of weeks ago he deleted some text messages that he now needs. Is there any way, an app, or anything that would allow him to retrieve these deleted text messages? I honestly have no idea, so I figured I would ask on here to see if anyone would be able to help me out.

Thanks Again,

Matt

Doubt it unless some data recovery on the sdcard would work, but I think you can pay for a list of them from the carrier, not 100% if its just numbers or full texts, I remember a girl having to ask her carrier due to abusive texts from an ex and she said it was going to cost ?x.xx

Are wondering whether you can retrieve deleted SMS? Need to know is It possible to retrieve deleted text messages? If so then you're in the right place as in this article I will show exactly how to go about retrieving deleted text messages. So keep reading to learn how to get your lost SMS's and other Sim Card Data back.

Firstly let me explain how it is possible to retrieve deleted text messages. You see a Sim card doesn't immediately erase a file once you delete it. Instead it just frees up the space that was occupied by that file (massage) and lists its space as available re-usable space. However until that space is overwritten by new data, in your case new messages, phone numbers etc., your old deleted file is still there and can be recovered.

Now in order to get the deleted messages back you are going to need two tools. One of them is a USB Sim card reader and the other is a decent Sim Card recovery program.

Sim card recovery programs are very similar to Data recovery software but they are designed specifically for recovering data from Sim Cards. They are able to recover deleted text messages, deleted phone numbers, call logs and plenty of other deleted data from your SIM, and they can do it all at the click of a few buttons.

The good news is that most of these programs offer a free trial version for download, so you can check to see what messages are retrievable right now.

Therefore if you were wondering is it possible to retrieve deleted text messages then wonder no more as it can easily be done with the right tools. If you have a USB SIM card reader and a good SIM Recovery Program then Retrieving Deleted Text Messages should be a walk I the park. Problem is though, most smartphones now will use the phone not the sim for saving texts, iirc simcards only hold 10 texts

Thank you very much. I had assumed due to privacy laws that they weren't allowed to keep copies of this. I just spoke to my carrier and I should be able to get a copy.

Thanks for your help. :)

I knew there was an app for the iPhone where you could access the database. Very handy. Dont know about Android. Maybe ask on the XDA Developers forum. They are very good at stuff like this.

this nsa non-sense brings up a good point. the carriers have to maintain records for a certain period of time. i bet even a monthly prepaid plan stores the data for some period of time if you know the serials of the device. phone number may have been churned. so lets all say outloud US Mail. screw the voyeurs

Wow, all these people saying about restoring files, iphones and so on.  The fail in this thread is high.

There is not technological way to get them back.  Maybe your provider has logs, but doubt they would release them easily.

Don't know how related or unrelated this is but I just lost all my messages about 50 minutes ago. I'm doing a restore right now to get my messages all back. Only thing that was going on at the moment when it happened was that Lookout was doing its thing scanning everything.

This thread is two years old and in reference to someone intentionally deleting messages. It's very doubtful it's related.

It's very easy for you to retrieve deleted text messages with the help of Android data recovery . This powerful tool could be the best assistant to help you restore lost Samsung, sony, lg, etc. text messages. With it, you won't suffer a lot from losing data. However, in order to android restore contacts phone completely, you should stop using your phone do any editing work. As you know, the reason why a recovery program can help you retrieve deleted text messages is that your lost messages data are still stored in somewhere of your phone, but if you add new sms on your device,  the new data may overwrite those previous data, then you will never get them back again.
