Google compared the growth in processing power and storage to internet speed, pointing out that the latter hasn't kept up with the former. Google believes that its fiber will put data access speeds on the same exponential growth curve. Google also pointed out that the US is well behind other countries in terms of both speed and pricing.Google Fiber has finally arrived in Kansas City, offering crazy-fast broadband speeds and a new television service on both sides of the Kansas / Missouri state line.

After hinting that it would be unveiled today, the company has made it official. Google is touting 1,000 Mbps download and upload speeds, positioning its service as "100 times faster" than traditional "broadband."

Google says there will be no monthly bandwidth caps, no overages. It also comes with 1TB of cloud storage, included. Google Fiber will be a "great new TV experience." It's called "Google Fiber Television."

Neat! Let's hope it comes to more areas soon. I'd like to see some serious competition for the current cast of crappy ISPs.

I love how they give really good internet access to two states that arguably have the least tech savoy people in them. Thanks Google!

On the other hand, offering free internet is awesome.

I hope in time this comes to other territories. The ISP market in the UK, whilst not bad could do with a shakeup.

The TV and Internet combo looks neat but I would personally would rather have it a bit slower and a bit cheaper

The UK Government are already really forward about faster internet in the UK but 2015, Google would definitely be welcomed to bringing speeds like that here!!!!

The ISP market in the UK is ridiculous. Especially when it comes to coverage, there's absolutely nothing done to improve the infrastructure, PLEASE GOOGLE COME TO THE UK AND SAVE US :D

Also something tells me there will be a raft of megacheap hosting companies setting up in Kansas soon. As well as a lot of megalan gaming companies.
