All of these changes, yet they still can't produce a change that countless users have been clamoring for since 2009: an option to auto-close or remove the download bar that intrusively pops up after every single download in the browser.

Chrome needs a better download manager. The browser has evolved over the years but the download manager has not. An option to run downloads instead of saving them would also be nice.

The dev channel has been updated to 22.0.1229.6. No post on the Google Chrome Releases blog for it. My guess is that it fixes the same security issue with Adobe Flash as this:

I noticed this:

New hover state for tab close button, can anyone confirm this is new in Chromium 23 only or also present in Chrome 22 dev?

^I can confirm that it's not there actually. It's still the red X on my end and I'm using the latest dev build.

I hate how chrome forced firefox to release rapidly with minor changes. But still competition is a lot better for users :) Chrome's minimalistic design was awesome anyway.

Some UI Changes in Chrome 23:

Tab-Strip Changes:

Fix tab-strip related constants to accommodate the new images.

1. Shift tab contents up by 2px.

2. Shift close button left by 4px.

3. Increase the space between tabs (the width of the "V") by 3px.

4. Shift omnibox down 1px.

and Omnibox Changes:

Fix omnibox appearance with the new asset:

1. Change border asset to point to the new one.

2. Change omnibox background color to an OS dependent color instead of white.

3. Delete the obsolete omnibox_border.png entr in the grd file.

Anyone knows if there are plans of an overhaul to Chrome's horrifying Download Page and thick, persistent download notification??

Makes me wanna puke. :x

Also, Notifications Center in Mountain Lion for downloads could be nice.

I disagree. The tabs in Chrome are very simple, minimalist and efficient. I really don't like the angular tabs...

You know you don't really have to state whether you agree or disagree in an opinion piece. Or you shouldn't have to if it is well written.
