I made 3 lettered Outlook accounts for all my family members

I just got my first name @outlook.com - don't plan on using it but I like having it :p Good thing there aren't many people called Ambroos.

why would you want that. and as said before. custom last name domain is the real deal.

my work e-mail actually has a 3 letter alias as well though(initials) and with the company using a three letter domain it is handy at work where i sometimes need to give the email over phone.

but in general i prefer the more professional full length e-mail.

I registered the one I normally use but not sure how much I will use it...at least not right now anyway. I never use my full name in my email addresses so I dont care about registering my name.

I mean that's cool and all.. but I'd rather have like.. firey@outlook.com over fir@ or fry@ dve@ but that's just me.

are they random letters? if so doesnt make much sense.

I got wuss@outlook ha

Nope, their initials.

3 letter account names?? Prepare for the onslaught of spam.

I hope not!

It's a brand new service, so it probably has much better spam protection.

I registered one for me.. just because I could..

Anyone know how to get it to work in the Android mail client though ? I don't want to download the specific Hotmail app.. Haven't seen any info anywhere on pop3/imap settings for it yet :/ Not that I'll actually use it, but if I do, I wanna get the email sooner rather than later lol

I registered one with my name just to reserve it, but I doubt I'll use it any time soon.

This.

However, It's been registered 2 days and I already have 4 spam emails, I haven't given it out to anyone or registered anything with it. I won't be using it.

Sadly I think smith.com is taken.

get your own <firstname>@<lastname>.com ... even better

Or do what I did and have the entire email address (including the @ sign and TDL) read as your full name :p I won't publicly write what my email address is (at the moment), but it begins with "c@lum" and the ccTDL I've used (the bit after the dot) is the ending of my surname :p

They did go to junk mail i guess, my last hotmail which I had for over 10 years was plagued by spam so moved to Gmail. I'm probably a bit weary of using it too much so it doesn't go the way the last one went.

I remember when I got damien@live.co.uk the first time around, the spam I got was horrendous so much so I just left the account to expire

still a bit weird to get any spam so early but i guess its good that it was picked up as junk so i dont really see it as much of a problem.

but yeah iv got two hotmail accounts, one that i use for random crap and one i use for more important things, with that said nether get any junk that i didnt sign up for

I would recommend not putting your actual email address in this thread. A rogue member could take that address and sign you up for porn or any other email promotion. Be careful!
