It's supposed to be the most difficult ever attempted.

Skycrane is a very risky deal as it's never been used before. If it works fine. If it doesn't....

With about a 14 minute delay between the vehicle sending and NASA receiving data the Curiosity either landed safely or has crashed about 7 minutes before the time NASA receives data on the vehicle entering the Mars atmosphere.

So yes, that would qualify for no room for error I guess ;)

Watching live and of course all the best...but what happened to the live landing video we were promised? Where are all the HD cameras?
