But what is currently in Neowin members views, the best note taking tablet on the market? I need one for an accademic setting. I had a look at some videos of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and this looked ideal. However I don't seem to be able to buy one anywhere. I vaguely remember something about a spat between Apple and samsung over a Samsung tablet, so I assume that maybe this is why? Does anyone have any other similarly useful suggestions? Yeah I've kind of had it with lugging heavy tablet convetables around with me. Something lightweight and fun to use would be cool I think. I'd go with the Surface Pro, because it's got OneNote MX and that cool pen. I feel you here but really dont' think you have any other options. best note taking devices are going to be the convertible tablet pcs. I say that mostly because you can't really run a good version of onenote on anything else. also the capacitive displays make it harder to write with a pen and have your palm on the screen. I tried writing with an Spen on a galaxy tab and it was a nightmare.... since you can't wait for windows 8 tablets ( they would at least give you onenote) I suggest getting the lightest convertible tablet you can. make sure it comes with a digitizer pen, nothing else is as good with note taking (IMO). I hear samsung will come out with a tablet size version of the note soon. but honestly in that case, it's much better to wait for any of the new X86 Win8 tablets that will come with an actual digitizer, or see if any of the WinRT tablets will come with a digitizer. capr Posted August 5, 2012 Share Posted August 5, 2012 Digitizer screens are the most accurate because only the pen will activate them. Capacitive is second best in my opinion because any part of your body(or pen) that touches it will make it work. the problem is unwanted parts of your body touching the screen while working with a pen. pressure sensitive or resistive screens are the worst because they often miscalculate the point of highest pressure and we often don't put the most pressure exactly where we want to touch. If they reduce sensitivity then you get the same problem as capacitive displays. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
