I honestly have no clue what these people find confusing or unworkable. The start screen is a vast improvement over the start menu with anything I need at a key press and mouse click away. I press the power button and the PC sleeps in under 10 seconds, press it again and it's back in about three seconds. I have a clutter free clean desktop as all my much used applications are either on the task bar or on the start screen as are web bookmarks, often used mail contacts and needed folders on my hard disk and much more..

Yeah.. real confusing and hard to use or work with..

Ah let them cry, it'll just turn into a new flamewar like this but I guess that's their intention?! :|

It's not that they don't know how to use it properly but there is no point in what Microsoft did with it, for desktop users it's a mess. It's great with touchscreens.

It's funny how there are so many people thinking it's a good improvement for desktops just because it's the latest version. Microsoft could serve them **** on the platter and they would love it if it's the latest ****.

All this Win 8 love & hate crap aside, I like your avatar. Cheers!

Again...what is a mess? what exactly is a mess? I use Windows 8 solely on desktop (and typing this from IE10) and I rarely have to get to start screen. I have my objections to stuff in Windows 8 but I will hardly call it confusing or mess to the point of doom and gloom for sales or "This will bankrupt Microsoft!!!"

It's just hyperbole. Those spouting this nonsense really don't have a clue about the market. They just care about what THEY want, in their own blinkered viewpoint.

I'm not gonna put what I think of Windows 8 here, but I will say that of all the Windows releases I've watched I can't remember a single one than had the die heart fans so deeply divided :/

This seems to be heading into familiar territory.
