buying data storage drive. any reason to wait?

Hey, I am looking to purchase a new data storage drive that I will use for backups once a week maybe once every 2 weeks.

Is there any reason to wait? anything new and exciting coming out? prices going down for some reason? I prefer external since the prices are almost the same....

thoughts? 2TB minimum USB 3 is a must if you are going to suggest stuff.

Well only reason to wait would be waiting for the HDD prices to go down again but I doubt that's going to happen any time soon and even if it does it won't drop much.

I think the HDD makers got "used" to the high prices and it will take their sweet time for them to come back down.
