Too much white in Office 2013, change colors?

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to change the background behind the page on Word 13? or even on the ribbion.

I think if i could change the colour behind the page I would be fine, I just find all the white very hard to look at.

Cheers for any tips.

There are other themes for Office 2013, but every time I select them they just go back to white.

I think it's like this just for the preview versions >.>

My bet is to wait for the final version to see what choices we have for themes/colors etc. Everyone is screaming that it's too white, there's no way the office team hasn't picked up on it.

The colour scheme options aren't available because it's the preview version. The final version should have those options, just like previous versions of Office.

Are you sure? The theme pictures are there but I haven't seen any trace of multiple color support anywhere in the UI so far. Would be weird if they removed that just for the preview to be honest.

(or they're just not finished yet, which is also entirely possible - I just hope they will let us make it darker again)

Yeah, but look at the changes made from the Windows 8 Release Preview to the final version. It's perfectly plausible that the final version will have a lot more customisation options.

Win 8 also has white everywhere, and they removed all customization. It's not a good sign.

That's nonsense. By default active windows in Windows 8 are blue, inactive windows light grey. It's still possible to customize the color of active windows. White being merely one of the options.

I think it was SharePoint 2013 or at least some other Office 2013 app which was demonstrated as having themes at the Office blog. I would expect a similar feature Office 2013 wide.

Personally, I love the white, will probably stick with it.

They have. They tweeted me a while back after I tweeted to them that I would like to see some color themes. Give it time, and I'm sure we'll have some nice ones.

I'm sure there will be some level of colour customisation in the proper release of it. It's not too bad to look at to be honest but I couldnt imagine typing on that for a prolonged period of time.
