Gamesave backup tool? (Windows)

Recommended Posts

Heya guys!

I'm looking for a gamesave backup tool for Windows.

I know there are a bunch, like MASGAU, SaveGame Backup Manager, GameSave Manager, SaveGame Backup and probably tons more.

However, I want a tool that can handle different locations for savegames like the directory for a savegame might be a certain path on Windows 7, but completely different on Windows XP for example.

Also, I hope to find a way to backup my gamesaves, if possible all of them out of the box, but I don't believe in that ( :p) so it'd be great to have a tool that is still maintained and supported by the dev(s) (preferably it should be more than one guy, but that's a side thing... For development stability's sake) - in such a way that I can submit my gamesave info and find it in the tool rather soon. (I don't want JUST the customized backup option :) I want to contribute - official support is better than hacking stuff together myself and dealing with possible difficulties like different paths on different platforms) and generally out-of-the-box full compatibility is king!

Thanks in advance! :)

Directory Synchronization programs are the way to go, imho....

They are not, apparently some games need some registry values for gamer profiles and to be honest: it's about having automation out-of-the-box.

It's cool for me to set up such synching, however, I'd much rather having something like one of those applications I listed I believe, that creates backups on the fly like folder sync (basically the moment the game stops, they are backuped), but is dedicated to gamesaves and hence, I don't have to look out for all the quirks and paths for different versions of Windows on top of that for my 59 games (and that's just the Steam ones...)

I hoped for some experiences some might have had with any of these tools. :)
