I would say Windows 7, but before that, Windows 2000 all the way. Just a perfectly built and powerful OS. Microsoft really got things right with Windows 2000. But 7 was their next well put together OS. Now with Windows 8, I just don't know.

I like all of them except Win8, Win 3.11 was a real GUI approach, Win95 improved that even more, Win98 added stability, WinME failed at it but nevertheless I had fond memories of it, Win2000 was a lot stable but had few programs ready for it, WinXP was the GUI going Colourfull, WinVista was shiny but 64 bits and estability was a plus for me, Win7 was WinVista perfectioned... Win8 sends to the trash all the advancements of the GUI.

Obviously at this point I have to choose windows 7 but I voted for Windows 2000, I have the fondest memories of using that. I don't remember having any computer problems at all from that time. Fantastic OS.

I voted voted for Windows Me, no not for banter xD I used Me for four years, longer than I did any other version and overall my views of it were very positive, I think must be one of the few people that escaped 99% of Me's problems :p

Why were Vista and Windows 8 options there? Are they even operating systems? :shiftyninja:

Well, I do not know about Windows 8 since MS is overhyping it, but I can say that Vista is the biggest change in Windows history.

I think Windows 2000 was the one that has impressed me the most. It was so clean and stable.

This. Win 2000 Pro was one of the best.

Windows XP is my favorite version of Windows. Windows XP runs everything and I like the software on it. Windows Movie Maker 2.1,WMP 11 and the fact that I don't have to install any extras.

Windows 7 is my second choice as it looks a lot like Windows XP,when you set it to Windows Classic. And Windows 7 runs all of the Windows XP software and can take whatever you throw at it.

I have installed Windows XP Movie Maker 2.1,WMP 5.1,Mplay 32,WMP 11 and Windows XP Paint, Wordpad and Sound Recorder. And also Pinball,Solitaire and all of the Windows XP games. All of which work on Windows 7. And Windows 7 runs all of the Windows 3.1,Windows 95 and 98 software as well.

The only disadvantage of Windows 7 is that it comes with little software. So you have to install Movie Maker and everything yourself. But on Windows XP and Windows Vista,it's already on there. Andrea Borman.

I think my favourite has to be Windows 7. It was everything Vista should have been and has just worked great on everything I've ever put it on.

Windows 7 > Windows XP > Windows 2k > Windows 98

Maybe Windows 8 will be the best, but there's still many things to go through to decide if it's success or a failure.

Favourite versions of Windows have been 3.11, 95 OSR2 (the first version of 95 was horribly unstable as well as a massive departure from Windows 3.11 - sound familiar?), 2000 SP1, Vista SP1, 7 and 8.

Currently my absolute favourite is 7 but I haven't really spent enough time in 8 yet, so far my experience with 8 has been very positive but I can't buy it yet.

Earliest versions I used were 3.11 in the DOS line and NT 4.0 in the NT line.

I don't like all the changes made in Windows 8 but it's still my favourite version of Windows. That said, Windows 2000 was excellent at the time as I've always been one for minimal and efficient visual themes.

Definitely Windows 8. My operating systems of choice may soon change to OS X and iOS (I haven't decided for sure), due to the few small annoyances I have with Windows 8 and Windows Phone, but I am a huge fan of the new "Metro" experience, the capabilities of WinRT, and the Start screen. I'm sure I will love Windows 8 as much as I currently do even if I decide to switch to OS X.

I prefer OS X to Windows 7, but the new Windows 8 experience and the idea for it are just brilliant.

My favorite all time is XP. It was a fantastic OS for a long time. Still is in a lot of places. I haven't used Windows 8 yet so I can't include that one.
