I didn't know everyone was a logo specialist in here as well. You guys are just full of surprises it seems.

The new logo while new still shares elements from the old one, the f and t are still joined and have the same bends, and the color "flag" is still there. The logo isn't just the name and text but the flag as well, together, while the old one was just the name itself.

In the end this update matches with other things they've done, the font matches what they use in their products and the logo matches the logo on the MS stores, and also by extension and use of shapes the new UI. But hey, i'm sure some experts in here will post some better stuff for all of us to see.

The logo is just fine on a tablet, lack of depth is its problem for desktops because real PCs don't have 2D logos. :p

Eh, it looks cheap and common to me. The old logo at least had some style (not to mention it was unique and recognizable). Then again, I hate most of this "modern" look companies are adopting for logos, designs, etc.; it all generally looks uninspired and boring to me, and it all looks the same. :/

I like it but I have my own take on it.

Windows 95 was a big change in computing terms.

Windows 8 is a big change in computing terms.

W8 logo is a smoother, crisp, modern version of w95 logo. Two big steps - 1 logo remastered.

I'm probably talking crap though haha
