Microsoft has just unveiled a new look and feel to its corporate logo. Following 25 years from its first introduction, this is the first major Microsoft logo change in the company's history.

That "Next Microsoft" design experiment by some random guy was pretty awesome but this is nice and safe for Microsoft which in more ways is probably a better way to go. As safe as it is, I actually like it too.

The Windows and Office logos in perspective continue to look awkward. Especially since the Microsoft and Xbox logos are front on.

This new logo seems to show that this company lacks inspiration and innovation. It seems to show that Microsoft is lacking in the graphics design department. I am tired of their constant-change antecs while Apple haven't changed much over the years, yet still prove successful. That is why I am considering switching to Apple.

As stupid as Windows 8. But I guess, can't say this to be a surprise. Microsoft, has been traditionally tasteless. Their previous logo had some style. This one has zero, just like anything they do these days (notable exception still goes to Xbox team)

The old logo was bold, strong, dynamic.. it had style and edge. It just felt powerful.

The new one looks like a 5 year old came up with it. Just look at that kerning (especially with f and t). Atrocious.

Minimalistic only works when you have style and is clever (serves the purpose). Going minimalistic for the sake of doing it and without style looks just as bad as anything else that's ugly.

I, too, wonder why this isn't the Windows 8 logo. So they have a corporate logo, a different Windows logo, a different Xbox logo and a different Office logo. Are we going to be seeing the corporate logo on new keyboards, or the Windows logo? When is it appropriate to use the corporate logo in place of the Windows logo? It's not bad, but I think it's a bit confusing. I think they should have picked one corporate logo and used it everywhere.
