Stuck in CWM with no USB mass storage!

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

Can somebody help me please!

I tried to install a MOD, turns out it was not for my ROM and now I'm stuck at the boot logo with access to CWM. I thought... all is good I'll just copy over the .zip again inside CWM and re-install the ROM. Turns out I noticed that I can't access USB mass storage when I plug my Galaxy s2 into my PC. It does not display in My Computer, it only displays when I plug it in saying Android recovery found. How can I access my files via USB mass storage to put in the ROM .zip? /emmc and USB is mounted in CWM.

TIA!

Stupidly no, I was going to backup after I installed the MOD thinking it would all go jolly dee... And what annoys me even more is that I had just deleted my OLD (but latest) backups 10 minutes before :(

CWM typically enables adb, you could potentially' adb push' a file to your phone.

an example would be: adb push cm10-20120820-a7.zip /emmc/cm10-20120820-a7.zip

adb push <local source> <remote destination>

Do you have a microSD that you can remove and use an adapter to put the ROM file on the microSD card? Then, re-insert into phone, and install that way. This is a good reason to keep a few ROM's on your microSD at all times.

What they both said. I always keep at least one backup on my phone as well as the current ROMs I am using. And with the new CWM, backups do not take nearly as long so I would make sure to do them from now on.

Ok, thanks for that. I managed to use another phone and copy it over from that phone.

I usually do have the rom ready for safe keeping on my phone but I was low on space so I deleted it :p
