I want to evaluate the RTM, Enterprise a good move?

Recommended Posts

As the title says, I would like to look at Windows 8 now its at RTM so I can evaluate it. I know I cant get my hands on Pro (legally) without paying so am wondering if Enterprises 90 day evaluation is worth taking up? Will it give me a good feel for 8 or will I not be getting the Win 8 pro experience and should just wait? From what Ive read the only thing I wont be able to do is install Media Centre.

Thanks

I think Enterprise has extra features that aren't in Pro, so if you eventually do get the Pro RTM, you might find it's not as good. Although most of the additional features are probably business-specific that most end users won't care about.

Thanks for the replies, Ive had a look at the Enterprise features and they don't look like anything I will need so I shouldn't miss it when I buy Pro.

Frankly the only thing worth missing from the Enterprise version is the Windows To Go feature, but other than that it'll give you a more-or-less perfect representation of the Pro edition for most users.

8's Enterprise is 7's Ultimate

So testing Enterprise will give you all and more of 8 and Pro

Not completely true. You can't get Windows Media Center with Windows 8 Enterprise.

I use the CP and RP of Windows 8 and find the Enterprise edition works the same. It certainly works for evaluating the merits of Windows 8, at least for 90 days.
